Do you want to build Tamiya’s stunning 1:48 kit? I’ll show you how…
Following closely the design and philosophy of the earlier Spitfire, Sea Fury and Mustang titles, ‘How to Build… Tamiya’s F-14A/D Tomcat’ offers the modeller everything that they need, to build a collection of models of this iconic aircraft in 1:48. In so doing, the reader will be taken through builds of the following subjects:
- F-14A Tomcat ‘From The Box’ – VF-2 Bounty Hunters
- F-14A Tomcat ‘Detailed’ – VF-41 Black Aces
- F-14D Tomcat ‘Tactical Paint Scheme’ – VF-101 Grim Reapers
Each chapter deals with the construction and painting of the models, offering ideas, hints and tips and where needed, additional details on getting the best from each individual project. High quality paper, printing and layout, ensure that no detail is missed across the extended 60 pages of this new publication.
AND THERE’S MORE!
With the first 100 confirmed orders, readers will receive a frameable A4 print, offered on high-quality card stock that you can keep and hopefully hang in your office or workroom! So if you want one – be quick: once they are gone, they are gone…
HOW TO ORDER…
As with previous titles, this one is being created as a strictly limited-run product and as before, the price reflects this. Many of you will already have the other books in your collections so — hopefully — will know what this means in terms of quality and how enjoyable it is to own something that’s rather niche in its approach!
So, with that in mind I’ve decided that this time I will only take confirmed orders from those modellers who complete payment of the book and not pre-orders for books to be posted out. However, I will take reservations from modellers who will be attending the Scale Model World show in Telford in November of this year. Though this all sounds rather blunt, I have to be honest and tell you that I had almost 30 pre-orders from customers who never completed those orders and as you can imagine, that’s a lot from a run of 200! So this time, I’ll almost print to order up to the allocation. Here’s what to do next…
If you are attending SMW 2018 in Telford and want a book to pick up, please drop me a line at spencerpollard1(at)gmail.com or via PM on my Facebook page and I will add you to my reserved list and take your copy to the show to be paid for there. If you aren’t attending the show, here are the links for confirmation and payment as usual ready for your book to be posted out:
- Orders to be collected at SMW 2018 – £20
- UK Orders including postage and packing: £22 – PayPal.Me/DavidP671/22
- Europe Orders including postage and packing: £25 – PayPal.Me/DavidP671/25
- Rest Of World including postage and packing: £27.50 – PayPal.Me/DavidP671/27.50
At the moment, there are no concrete plans to create a hardback version of this book unless there are specific orders to do so, though I may do a set just in case. These are always very expensive to create, but in my opinion are the best way to see the work in print as I am sure those that have seen either the Spitfire or Mustang books will admit! I’m happy to do them, but I will only do so if there is specific interest up to the needed run of 25 copies. If you would like one please can you let me know and I will tot up the numbers and see if is viable.
Please therefore if you would like a hardback either message me on here, on my Facebook page for those that are friends, or via my email address: spencerpollard1(at)gmail.com
The cost of the hardback should you want one will be as follows:
- Orders to be collected at SMW 2018 – £30
- UK Orders including postage and packing: £34.50
- Europe Orders including postage and packing: £36
- Rest Of World including postage and packing: £39.50
When using the Paypal links, please can you ensure that you do the following:
Leave your email address so that I can contact you if necessary – and your full name – not just your screen name!
Leave a full name and mailing address and if you have reserved a copy under a screen name such as seen on here, that as well please. Sometimes its easy to click the link, but not add additional details, so please, if you can, fill in you COMPLETE address so that I can simply cut and paste it for use on the mailing labels and envelopes. If I can’t find your address or full name, I can’t send out the book, so the more information I have, the easier and more efficient it will be!
If you need to contact me about anything to do with the book, place an order, or have any other questions, please either leave a message here, or contain me using my email address:
So for now, that’s just about it with the book, all that needs to be done now to finalise design and get everything off to the printers ready for release at the show and then to be posted out over the following two weeks. Thank you all so much for you support with this project and for taking the time to read this update. I hope that you enjoy the book when it arrives and hope that you all have a wonderful day. Thanks so much!
Spencer Pollard, October 2018.
